Classic Icon for a New Age
The Star Wars franchise is relatively new to Chinese customers (aside from, perhaps, Darth Vader), and under Disney's ownership, it is undoubtedly looking for a larger, global audience. However, its Chinese wordmark (as recently shown in The Force Awakens) is not reflective of the grandeur of the brand. The new Chinese wordmark leverages the same visual width of "Star Wars" and even incorporates a slight offset in the center to help deliver an appropriate sense of ominousness.
